nPM1100 Power Management IC from Nordic Semiconductor Delivers Power to Your Circuits and Charges Battery
Nordic Semiconductor ASA entered the power management solutions market with their new nPM1100 Power Management IC (PMIC). The chip comes in a 2x2mm ultra-small form-factor yet packs everything for your portable solutions. It integrates a dual-mode configurable DC-DC step down buck converter and a battery charge controller. The input voltage ranges from 4.1V to 6.7V and delivers a maximum of 150mA to the regulated output. The battery charge controller can deliver up to 400mA and supports different battery chemistries.
The high efficiency buck regulator can reach up to 92% while maintaining specified output. This delivers clean power to nRF52 and nRF53 series SoC based applications. The regulator has two modes – Hysteritic and PWM modes. The Hysteric mode reduces power consumptions for low load conditions. PWM mode is suitable for high current needs. The chip supports USB power input and has USB detect function.
